The construction sector in the Kyrgyz Republic has been growing rapidly due to ongoing infrastructure development projects and urbanization. The scope of construction includes residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as road and bridge projects. Kyrgyzstan produces a range of local construction materials, including cement, bricks, and concrete products, which form the backbone of the industry. Local quarries provide aggregates such as sand and gravel for construction purposes.
However, the country imports certain construction materials, such as steel, insulation materials, advanced machinery, and some types of modern finishing materials like high-quality glass and tiles. These imports are primarily sourced from neighboring countries like Kazakhstan, China, and Russia, as well as from further abroad, to meet the growing demand for high-quality construction products.
