ISLAMABAD: Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Ulanbek Totuiaev, emphasized the significance of the Pakistan Trade House opening in Kyrgyzstan on Sunday. He said it would help promote Pakistani products, attract investors, and enhance market access, paving the way for deeper integration into the Eurasian Economic Union.

Speaking at a reception in Lahore hosted by Meher Kashif Younis, Chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House and Coordinator to the Federal Tax Ombudsman, Totuiaev announced plans to open more Kyrgyzstan Trade Houses across major Pakistani cities. These will facilitate direct business interactions between the two countries, promoting bilateral trade and regional connectivity—key priorities in today’s global landscape.

He encouraged Pakistan’s chambers of commerce to capitalize on Kyrgyzstan’s market and its neighboring states. Totuiaev also highlighted the importance of frequent business exchanges to strengthen trade across various sectors.

Addressing logistical challenges, he noted that difficult transportation routes have hindered trade but assured that the planned railway link through Afghanistan would overcome this issue. He further announced that his government is actively working on this ambitious regional project.

Totuiaev expressed confidence that the Kyrgyzstan Trade House and his embassy would support Pakistani traders looking to explore investment opportunities in Kyrgyzstan. He also praised Meher Kashif Younis as a dynamic leader who will play a key role in fostering bilateral trade between the two countries.

Dr. Shahid Hassan, President of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House, was also present at the event.

In his remarks, Meher Kashif Younis emphasized the shift from globalization to regional connectivity. He called for stronger trade and economic cooperation with Central Asian nations, pointing out the deep historical, cultural, and religious ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
